A young woman has experienced terrible, unexplainable nightmares, and her lack of sleep is slowly tearing apart her social, work, and family life. During a visit with her psychiatrist, she reveals the strange events leading to her horrific nightmares. It’s a story that neither she, her psychiatrist, or our listeners will ever forget.
We will release new episodes twice a month on the 1st and 15th. Please leave us a rating and review on iTunes as it helps others find us!
Thanks for your interest in The Shadowvane Podcast’s first ever writing contest! We are here to entertain you, the fans, and we want to offer every opportunity to get you involved as possible.
For our first of many contests, we’re putting out the challenge of writing a piece of horror, science fiction, and/or suspense to all our listeners. It doesn’t matter if you’re an avid writer or never penned a story before; we encourage you all to give it a shot!
Below you will find the contest rules, prizes, and submission deadline.
Your story must fit the genres suited to our program. This includes horror, science fiction, and/or suspense. Any story outside these genres may not be considered for the contest.
You may submit either a short story or a radio drama script for this contest. We may allow other forms of writing, such as poetry, in future contests.
An average episode script runs around 3,000 words. Thus, your work must not exceed 4,000 typed words. Any stories longer than this may not be considered for the contest.
A person may only enter one story or script to be considered for the contest.
Submit your story to our e-mail address: firstname.lastname@example.org. You can attach a Word document, a link to a Google Doc, or copy and paste the story into the e-mail. Please keep in mind that copying and pasting the story may mess with the formatting of your story.
First Place: Your story/script will be featured on a future episode of The Shadowvane Podcast and read by one of our voice actors. You will also receive a first place certificate, a free Shadowvane Podcast t-shirt and a copy of one of our episode scripts signed by the writer, Andrew Lister.
Second Place: Your story/script will be featured on a future episode of The Shadowvane Podcast and read by one of our voice actors. You will also receive a second place certificate and a free Shadowvane Podcast sticker.
Third Place: Your story/script will be featured on a future episode of The Shadowvane Podcast and read by one of our voice actors. You will also receive a third place certificate.
Your submission is due by Tuesday, March 31st.
